The 4tables Project started in 2008, literally with 4 little cafe tables on the open terrace of a small house in Bir, with the walls as gallery space. In 2012, we shifted to our current location, to the village of Gunehar, Bir, which allowed us to gradually expand, utilising the entire village and in the process ‘putting the village on the map’ (according to national media).

Today, the hospitality arm of the 4tables Project has a number of projects scattered around the village, designed to highlight the village itself and facilitate meaningful interaction between urban visitors and our villagers: The 4tables Cafe, The 4Rooms Hotel, the Gunehar Art Gallery and our recent addition, Camp in the Fields.

A substantial part of the proceeds from these projects goes towards sustaining our art residencies and exhibitions.
